The Body Remembers

The body forgets nothing. It stores every touch, every fright, every joy. Not as a story, but as a sensation. As tension in the shoulders, tightness in the chest, tingling in the hands.

In Gestalt therapy we work with what shows itself in the moment. And often it shows itself first in the body, before it finds words. A sigh, a gesture, a tremor — these are not disturbances. These are beginnings.

Sound meditations, walking meditation, breathwork — all these methods share one thing: they invite the body to speak. Not through thinking, but through sensing.

When the body remembers, something begins to move that conversation alone cannot reach. That is not a replacement for words. It is their complement.
